Haus der Begegnung, Königstein

High above the roofs of the metropolis that is Frankfurt am Main, this is where Königstein im Taunus nestles. The imposingly massive ruined castle (the town’s landmark), the picturesque old centre. It is here you will find the House of Encounters, a unique venue with plenty of history, a distinctive flair and out-of-the-ordinary architecture. Both heritage preservationists and architects have hailed the House of Encounters as a significant building of historical importance. In recognition of the major energy savings achieved by the refurbishment project, the town of Königstein im Taunus has been honoured with the national Green Building Award, and the House of Encounters meanwhile has Green Building Partner status. Now that refurbishment has been completed, the building’s original glories, not least its unique acoustics, have been matched to the requirements of a venue for the 21st century. A place of welcoming ambience, a place where events are enjoyable occasions. The light-filled Great Hall, with its stage and its unique acoustics, constitutes the House of Encounters’ heart.
