Innenhof des Rettershof, Kelkheim

Since 1 January 1980, the Rettershof has been owned by the town council of Kelkheim (Taunus). In order to prevent the estate from being split up, and to preserve the 110-hectare property as a recreational facility for the general public, it was purchased from the last owner, Felicitas Bienzle, née von Richter-Rettershof, for 9.1 million marks, together with all the buildings, fixtures, animals, woods, farmland and meadows. The Rettershof has since then been managed by an operating company set up specifically for this purpose, called “Gutsverwaltung Rettershof GmbH“.

There is a large car park in the immediate vicinity of the Rettershof, and a lawn area  cordoned off for this purpose.
