The Assembly Rooms (Kurhaus) were built to a design by the well-known Wiesbaden-based architect Philipp Hoffmann, and inaugurated in 1879. They are constructed in the style of the Italian Late Renaissance, and lavishly decorated. The building was modernised in 1930/31, and meticulous refurbishment work has restored the function rooms of the Kurhaus and the Alleesaal to their former glories. As in days gone by, the venue is ideally suited for major events. The Great Hall, opulently decorated in marble and stucco, together with its ancillary rooms, provides to this day a fittingly elegant backdrop for cultural events, conferences and congresses.
