The 33rd Rheingau Music Festival will take place from 20 June to 5 September 2020 and is all about "freedom". As Artist in Residence, Lisa Batiashvili will be showing all her skills. Soprano Julia Lezhneva will be the focus artist. Gabriela Montero is Composer & Artist in Residence this year. As a focus jazz artist, Wolfgang Haffner will be presenting his full musical sophistication at the Rheingau Music Festival. In addition, this year the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven is the focus of attention.

The 33rd Rheingau Music Festival will take place from 20 June to 5 September 2020 and is all about "freedom". As Artist in Residence, Lisa Batiashvili will be showing all her skills in four events featuring music from Bach to Arvo Pärt. Soprano Julia Lezhneva will be the focus artist in five events with music from Bach to Rachmaninov. Gabriela Montero is Composer & Artist in Residence this year. In three events she will perform her own compositions as well as works from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Alfred Schnittke. As a focus jazz artist, Wolfgang Haffner will be presenting his full musical sophistication in four events at the Rheingau Music Festival with Michael Wollny, Max Mutzke and Thomas Quasthoff, among others. In addition, this year the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven is the focus of attention. The Rheingau Music Festival celebrates the great composer with numerous concerts and events.

Concert Spring Ingelheim 2020

In the spring of 2020, the third Ingelheim Concert Spring ushers in the Rheingau Music Festival Summer. A versatile and varied programme will be presented in the kING Culture and Congress Hall with its extraordinary architecture and outstanding acoustics.

The spring concert in Ingelheim will be opened on 14 March 2020 by the actor Hans Sigl and the pianist Helmut Deutsch. In their musical and literary programme they will focus on romantic melodramas by important composers. In the family concert by Clarissa Corrêa da Silva and Ralph Caspers, the well-known presenters of the programme "Wissen macht Ah!", as well as the David Gazarov Trio, everything revolves around Johann Sebastian Bach on 15 March 2020. In their concert on April 24, 2020, the "classical band" Spark unites Mozart and ABBA, lets Ravel dance and indulges in Latin American rhythms. Finally, on 14 May 2020, the Julia Fischer Quartet will offer chamber music by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms in top-class interpretation.
